Standing out in today's visual age demands an outstanding headshot. The quality of your headshot should reflect the same level of quality you place in every aspect of your professional and personal life. Capture people's attention with a headshot that speaks volumes about who you are and what you bring to the table.

I'm a commercial and entertainment photographer who's spent the last decade photographing some of the world's top musicians and entertainers. I've created this website to offer the same magazine-quality images to folks who seek to stand out in their fields as someone who values themselves and who provides that same value to others.

I'm fascinated by passionate people and honored to help tell their stories and develop their brands with the images we create.

Everyone. Whether you are an executive, entrepreneur, small business owner or independent contractor, a professional headshot can help build your brand and give your professional profile the weight it deserves. From artists and entertainers to CEOs and VPs, we have worked with people from every industry and all walks of life to produce headshots that project an image and style unique to the individual and their profession.

Join the club! Not many people enjoy being in front of the camera and that's completely normal. The good news is that we've photographed hundreds of people who don't love the camera and have developed outstanding techniques for achieving natural results from anyone. Our sessions are always relaxed and easy so as long as you come to the shoot with a positive attitude, we guarantee images that you'll love.

While the "One Style" option is great for those who don't have a lot of time or need a variety of different looks, choosing the "Unlimited Styles" option is the best way to show different sides of your personality for different uses and applications. For example, you could choose to wear a formal suit or blouse on a darker backdrop for your professional website and marketing materials and a casual outfit on a white backdrop for your personal social media feeds, speaking engagements, or dating websites. Choosing the "Unlimited Styles" option lets us explore as many wardrobe and backdrop combos as our allotted time slot allows. This is our most popular option and the best bang for your buck.

THE DARK SIDE:  An authentic and classic style on a dark backdrop. We're going for Vanity Fair status here.

THE BRIGHT SIDE:  A lighter, brighter style on a white backdrop. Great for all occasions and wardrobe selections.

  • What’s the difference between a portrait and a headshot?

A headshot is generally a close-up, head and shoulders shot that you’ll use for branding, marketing and identifying yourself in the marketplace. The subject’s expression is approachable and confident. These are primarily used in business and social media profiles, email signatures and business cards.

A portrait is any other type of photo of a person; a 3/4 length or full body shot where the background or environment may be an important element to telling the story about this person and what they do. These are often called an “environmental portrait” and are usually a bit more artistic than a headshot.

A headshot could be a portrait but a portrait is not necessarily a headshot. The main difference being that a headshot is a professional representation of the person, while a portrait is an artistic representation of the person.

  • Can we do this at my location?

Yes, we’re quite happy to bring our mobile studio to your location. However, in order to guarantee the results and quality you see in the photos on our website, we’ll need a clear space of about 15’x15’.

We understand that’s not so easy in most homes or apartments, but if you have a place of business or open loft with this kind of room, we can do it. If you’re interested in this option, be sure to mention it when you contact us.

  • Do you require an initial payment to reserve my session?

Yes, we require both a $200 initial payment and a signed copy of our Terms of Agreement form before scheduling a session. This $200 payment is applied to the total and the remainder of the total will be due on the day of the shoot. We accept cash and all major credit cards.

  • What’s your rescheduling, cancellation, and no-call / no-show policies?

We understand that shit happens but we must have these policies in place in order to prevent loss of money from cancelled studio sessions.

Reschedule requests with at least 6 days notice will be granted without losing your $200 initial payment. Reschedule requests with fewer than 6 days notice will result in a forfeit of the $200 initial payment and require an additional $200 to schedule a new session.

Cancellations also require 6 days notice prior to the scheduled session date for a full refund of your $200 initial payment. Cancellation requests less than 6 days prior to your scheduled session will result in a forfeit of your $200 initial payment.

No-call / no-shows will forfeit their $200 initial payment and will not be offered a reschedule.

  • Do you have group rates for office teams?

Absolutely, but since there are many variables to these shoots, this requires a custom quote. Click here for more info.

  • How often should I update my headshots and do you offer a discount for return clients?

Your headshot is supposed to be an accurate representation of you so we recommend updating it either every two years or after making any major changes to your appearance. We offer a 20% discount to our previous individual clients that schedule a session within 2 years of their previous session.

  • I’m super nervous, can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! In fact, if they want to have their headshots taken also in the same session, we’ll give you both 15% off of your totals. It’ll be fun!

  • What should I wear to my session?

This is a really important question and we’ve put together a really informative PDF for you that covers this topic and so much more to help you prepare for your shoot! Click here for women and click here for men.

  • Should I hire a professional makeup artist?

For men, the answer is no. For women, investing in a professional makeup artist is worth every penny. Even if you are great at doing your own make-up, doing it for camera is much different.

We work with best makeup artists to produce a natural look that accentuates your features while maintaining a realistic representation of you. If you choose to do your own make-up, please take a moment to read over the make-up section of our shoot preperation page.

  • What happens after my session?

Within 24 hours (usually right after your session), we’ll send you a link to an online proofing gallery where you can view and select your favorite images. Once your selections are retouched and finalized, we’ll send you a download link, which will include both high resolution files for printing and low resolution files for internet and email use.

  • Do I get all of the photos from my session?

No. You only get the finalized retouched images that are included in the package that you purchased and will not get to keep the other unselected images from your session. You do, however, have the option of purchasing as many additional images as you'd like.

  • What if I lose my photos?

After we successfully deliver the finished files to you, we are not responsible for and can not be held liable for lost or damaged files. It is your responsibility to back these up on multiple computers, hard drives, and cloud drives in order to protect your investment. However, with that said, we do archive all of our work and the original link we send you should be good for many years.

  • Am I allowed to make my own prints?

Yes. Included in your final headshot download file will be a letter of permission from Wiliam Dean so that you may make your own prints at a vendor of your choice.
